60+ Organizations honored for contributions

Each May, we gather to honor companies, organizations, nonprofits, and municipalities that support the Middlesex United Way campaign.

We like to take this day to show our friends and supporters how much we appreciate their support of their community and of Middlesex United Way. This past Tuesday, we gave out about 60 awards, and it was a ton of fun.

We’d like to shout out to the companies that were honored on Tuesday morning, and there sure are a lot of them.

Top honors went to Comcast, honored with the Corporate Spirit Award; Chandler Howard of Liberty Bank, who received the Leadership Award; Julissa Velaquez and Bob Millerd of Pratt and Whitney and Paul Turenne of Wesleyan University, recognized as Coordinators of the Year; and Middlesex Hospital and East Hampton Schools received the Funding Partner Achievement Award. We also honored Guilmartin, Dipiro, and Sokolowski with the Small Business Community Partnership Award, Eli Cannon’s with the Social Media Shout Out Award, and MiddleOak with the Special Achievement Award.

We owe a deep thank you to all of these companies for all of their hard work this campaign and helping contribute to making our community even better. Thousands of community members are positively impacted as of donor contributions. It is hard to put into words how much this means to us, but support like this really makes us proud our community.
