Fourth Annual Children's Fair
From Clinton's Best Beginnings program, a project of the Early Childhood Council
Saturday, October 2 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at The Morgan School
Best Beginnings' mission is to provide a strong base for the development of every child, birth through 5 years, in the town of Clinton. The program is part of United Way's school readiness initiative.

The program's Fourth Annual Children's Fair will feature displays, activities and entertainment for families who have infant through five year old children. There is fun time for children while their parents receive important information. Once families are registered they receive information about parent workshops, support group sessions, and child development and care, as well as help for challenging behaviors of children.

If you are a parent, you are welcome to attend with your children. Call Best Beginnings for more information at (860) 669-7246 or click here to visit their website.

Also, your organization can participate by having a table at the fair and offering either information for parents or an activity for children or both. Call the above phone number to learn more about participating in the fair.

Saturdays for Kids
MARC: Community Resources
Saturday for Kids is a one of a kind recreation and respite program for families with special needs children. The program is for children ages 6-17 and meets 2-3 Saturdays per month from 9 am - 1 pm. Saturday for Kids provide peer social activities for the children as well as a much needed respite for parents and families. In addition to arts and crafts, music, and a variety of toys and games, regularly scheduled enriching and entertaining experiences are provided once a month. On those special days, the program is a Buddy Day when the children are encouraged to invite their friends or siblings to the program.

The demands of raising a child with disabilities can be all consuming. This program helps in a small way to alleviate the demands. We provide a high quality and safe environnment where parents can feel comfortable leaving their child with disabilities in very capable hands.

For more information on this program, call Lou Alperowitz at (860) 635-5151, ext. 305.
