2024 Community Impact Small Grants application now open

Middlesex United Way announces a new Community Impact Small Grant opportunity!

Middlesex United Way is seeking small grant applications from new organizations to fund programs and event sponsorships in Middlesex County that work within established Impact Areas of Racial Equity & Inclusion, Education, Financial Stability, Housing, Wellness, and Youth Development.

Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) or have a fiscal sponsor that is a 501(c)(3). Funds are restricted for work serving the communities and constituents of Middlesex County. Middlesex United Way Community Impact Grant funds cannot fund capital expenditures, scholarship programs, staff compensation or any third party or contract. All grant funds must be spent on the intended purpose. Applying organizations cannot currently be receiving funding from the traditional Community Impact Grant. Eligible organizations can apply for $100 - $1,000. Applications are reviewed and scored by volunteers and staff.

Application Opens: August 9, 2024
Last day to submit application: November 29, 2024

 

•    Electronic packet that includes grant criteria, important dates, and application.
•    Watch recorded Information Session.
•    Submit application (in Microsoft Word format) via email to Karen Renner – you’ll receive a confirmation email upon receipt.
 

(1)    The organization must be a 501(c)(3) or have a fiscal sponsor that is a 501(c)(3). 

(2)    The proposed program must serve the constituents of Middlesex County: Chester, Clinton, Cromwell, Deep River, Durham, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Killingworth, Middlefield, Middletown, Old Saybrook, Portland, and Westbrook.

(3)    Middlesex United Way Community Impact Grant funds cannot fund capital expenditures, scholarship programs, staff compensation, or any third party or contract. All grant funds must be spent on the intended purpose. 

(4)    Applications must be a minimum request of $100 and a maximum of $1,000. 

(5)    The organization cannot currently be receiving funding through the traditional Community Impact Grant program and must be in good standing with Middlesex United Way. 

(6)    The program/event must fit within a specific Impact Area: Education, Housing, Financial Stability, Racial Equity & Inclusion, Wellness, and Youth Development.
